Delete your Safebite account
Applies to the Safebite apps for iPhone and Android and the web app at app.suppersquad.app
You can delete your Safebite account and its data yourself, at any time, from inside the app.
Delete it in the app
- Open the Safebite app, or go to app.suppersquad.app, and sign in.
- Tap Profile in the bottom bar.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- Tap Delete account again to confirm.
You'll be signed out on every device straight away.
Can't sign in?
Email support@suppersquad.app from the email address on your account, with the subject "Delete my Safebite account". We'll check that the request comes from the account owner and delete the account within 7 days. The 30-day timeline below then applies.
If you have a subscription
- Web or Google Play: deleting your account stops the subscription from renewing.
- App Store: Apple doesn't let us cancel App Store subscriptions for you. Cancel it yourself in your iPhone's Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Safebite, or you may still be charged.
What happens and when
Days 0–30: restore window. Your account is locked and hidden, and nobody can use it. If you change your mind, sign in again within 30 days and everything is restored.
After 30 days: permanently erased. Your account and the data listed below are erased within a day after the 30 days are up, and can't be recovered.
Within 35 more days: gone from backups. Our encrypted database backups age out on a rolling basis, so the erased data is also gone from backups after this.
What is deleted
- Your sign-in: your email address, password, and the link to Google or Apple sign-in
- All allergy profiles, including names, allergens, dietary needs and birthdays
- Your saved address and location
- Your saved restaurants
- Your notification and email settings, how you heard about us, and your Terms and marketing email consent records
- Your subscription record, including your plan, status, dates and store reference numbers
- For restaurant accounts, your access to your restaurant's listing
What is kept, and why
| What | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| A random account number marked "deleted", with no email, name, allergies or location | So a late payment message from Stripe, Apple or Google can't bring the account back | Indefinitely |
| Proof that you agreed to automatic renewal terms (date, plan, price and trial length), linked only to that random account number | Automatic renewal laws (for example in California) require us to keep it | At least 3 years, or 1 year after the subscription ended if that's later |
| Encrypted database backups | Disaster recovery | Up to 35 days after erasure |
| Payment records held by Stripe, Apple or Google | Tax and financial laws require these companies to keep them | Under each company's own policy |
| Restaurant names, addresses, hours and menus | Business information that diners still use | While the restaurant is listed |
If you'd like to delete some of your data without closing your account, edit or remove your allergy profiles, address and saved restaurants in the app. You can also email us. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and why.
